Mind and Soul
You may have heard that the universe is a hologram—that there is nothing “real.” It is all only perception.
If, as physics tells us, this holographic model is the reality, then
how does a unique perception of reality arise for each of us while
simultaneously fitting into the “big picture” of universal consciousness?
In this course, BodyTalk Founder John Veltheim addresses this question by
presenting the soul as a functional unit of universal consciousness,
one that can be addressed and balanced using BodyTalk protocol and
procedures (although you do not need to be a BodyTalk Practitioner to
take this course). The course examines both philosophical and scientific
perspectives of the soul, explores how the soul functions via the mind
and three brains, and provides tools for applying these understandings
using BodyTalk or other modalities.
The Three Brains
Intuitively, the human being senses that the brain in the head
is not the only brain and that there are two more brains.
Experientially, we know that we have three interactive brains that
inform us in vastly different ways. And yet, intellectually, many of
us are convinced that there is only one brain and that it resides in
our head. While this conviction remains strong, our experience of the
Three Brains is that they function in conflict with one another.
The understanding of the Three Brain System, and the incredible
applications of this knowledge in all aspects of healthcare, is a
critically important development that every healthcare practitioner
needs to embrace. Once we understand that we have a Three Brain
Complex and then learn how to support it, our experience of the brain
transforms.
What to Expect
This is a course that has been described as bringing BodyTalk full circle back to its roots and its original focus on increasing self-awareness, embracing philosophy, and delving into ancient wisdom and metaphysics.
It is a course that helps to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science to help us each tap into the full potential of our mind, our three brains and our ability to live a life that is congruous with the soul's agenda.
John Veltheim is the founder of The BodyTalk System. He is cofounder of both the International BodyTalk Association and the International BodyTalk Foundation, which helps fund research and offers BodyTalk Access to people in places where healthcare is not readily available.
He is formally trained as a chiropractor and acupuncturist and served as Principal of the Brisbane College of Acupuncture and Natural Therapies for five years. Dr. Veltheim's extensive postgraduate studies include applied kinesiology and Bioenergetic therapy. He has also studied osteopathy and sports medicine.
His other areas of expertise include counseling, comparative philosophy, and theology. John also has extensive knowledge in the field of quantum physics and consciousness and has spent much time lecturing internationally on these topics.
Dr. Veltheim has written numerous magazine and journal articles on BodyTalk and his other areas of expertise. His work has been published in the Journal of Alternative Medicine Research. The journal’s publishers were so impressed with his development of The BodyTalk System, they dedicated an entire volume solely to articles about BodyTalk.
John is also the published author of several books on the topics of Reiki, acupuncture and BodyTalk. He has created numerous BodyTalk courses and developed the PaRama BodyTalk program where science meets healing at the highest level.

– Walt Whitman
In this course, we will investigate the concept of the holographic/holotropic/holo-informational universe. This will include a discussion of our tendency to separate, categorize, divide and disconnect the things we focus on, despite the holographic nature of things. From the holographic point of view, there is no difference between you and anything else in the room you are sitting in right now. It is simply perception, and what you perceive depends entirely on where you put your focus. What you focus on becomes real and important to you. What you don’t focus on, you don’t see, or it is just not important. This summarizes our experience of life. In this course, we take an in-depth look at this pattern. In doing so, we will investigate the gaps in our experience of the hologram as a way of broadening our understanding of life, the soul and the brain. From this expanded awareness, we will see that every “truth” in life is truly relative and that there is no such thing as a “right” or “wrong” teaching. All teachings are simply part of one big hologram that is used in different ways with different emphasis.
The course will address the three brains (head, heart and gut) as focusing tools within the big holographic picture. There will be an exploration into the most recent science regarding each of the brains. Our focus will be to look at the interplay and the filters affecting the interaction of the three brains and deepening our understanding of the roles of each of the brains, which have been long understood in ancient cultures. We will also look at brain function as permeating every part in the body and not as something that can be distinctly isolated. At this stage, we have confused the functions of the three different brains because undue emphasis has been put on the brain in the head and, in more recent years, the heart. In doing so, the whole mechanism of the three brain complex has been greatly compromised.
We will take a detailed look at the concepts of the soul, reincarnation and life after death, taking some of the mystery out of these ideas. Once again, the focus is not on right or wrong perspectives, but how the viewpoints of various traditions reflect uniquely in the experiences of different groups. There isn’t a distinct truth regarding the soul, but rather cultural trends and perspectives. These trends will reveal themselves in different near-death experiences. The soul will then be explored in terms of its functional role, including the physics of the soul. We will also look at issues that can happen related to the soul, for example being born without a soul and soul damage that can happen during life.
Ultimately, the course will explore different teachings and viewpoints on life from around the world, examining their commonalities and distinctions. All viewpoints in life are valid in relationship to their etiology. However, they are also all relative—relative to what people want and understand. Ultimately, this course is about looking at life through a bigger lens to see that there is no right or wrong in any approach because of the world’s holographic character.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
