Course Overview

Plants are the quiet foundation of human life, an essential source of nourishment, balance, and well‑being. We depend on them in countless ways, so it’s only wise that we aim to understand the subtle yet powerful ecosystems they create. At the heart of every plant’s health is its environment. Its ability to endure or adapt to shifting conditions determines whether it thrives or fades. It is simple—adapt or die. The phrase may sound stark, but it reflects a fundamental truth about plant consciousness and the innate intelligence woven into all living systems.

BodyTalk for Plants offers a simple yet sophisticated way to support this intelligence. By applying the principles of The BodyTalk System, we help plants heal, strengthen, and adjust to the world around them so they can flourish with greater ease. As they thrive, so do we.

John Veltheim

Dr. John Veltheim, D.C., B.Ac., is the founder of the BodyTalk System. A chiropractor, traditional acupuncturist, philosopher, Reiki Master, lecturer, and teacher, the culmination of his life's work was the BodyTalk System. He co-founded both the International BodyTalk Association and the International BodyTalk Foundation, which supports research and provides BodyTalk Access to underserved communities.

Originating in the 1990s, the BodyTalk System emerged from Dr. Veltheim's extensive background. Hailing from Australia, he operated a thriving acupuncture clinic in Brisbane for 15 years and served as the Principal of the Brisbane College of Acupuncture and Natural Therapies for five years.

His post-graduate studies encompassed various fields, including applied kinesiology, bio-energetic psychology, osteopathy, quantum physics, sports medicine, counseling, and comparative philosophy and theology.

Dr. Veltheim contributed significantly to literature, authoring numerous articles on the BodyTalk System and related subjects, some of which were published in the Journal of Alternative Medicine Research. His pioneering work led the journal to dedicate an entire volume to articles about BodyTalk.

A published author in Reiki, acupuncture, and BodyTalk, Dr. Veltheim developed multiple BodyTalk courses and introduced the PaRama BodyTalk program, uniting science and healing at the highest level.

Over the last two decades of his life, Dr. Veltheim traveled the world, teaching and providing sessions in BodyTalk and its related wellness programs to professionals and laypeople alike. He established a network of instructors worldwide to expand the reach of this transformative healthcare system, ensuring it could serve and support as many communities as possible.

Dr. Veltheim passed away on November 22, 2022. The ongoing mission of the IBA and its Instructors is to uphold his vision and perpetuate his legacy.

“Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day. And you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love.”

– Fyodor Dostoevsky

Course Description

This course contains 15 hours of video lecture. BodyTalk for Plants can be used to balance a plant to their environment and ultimately facilitate their ability to self-heal. This includes helping plants deal with stressors like: extremes in climate (moisture, temperature, etc.), relationships with neighboring plants, microbes and insects (healthy plants always ward off disease), exchange through air and soil, and much more.

When a plant is balanced it will thrive, leading to increased yields in crops and gardens, a greater ability to provide energy and life to the ecosystem, and sustaining the ability to play their role in life. BodyTalk for Plants works on any kind of plant, from houseplants and flowers to herbs, home gardens, trees, and crops.
