Group BodyTalk Session - Trauma and Intuition Series

English (US)
3   CEUs

Price USD 150.00

Group Session series offer an opportunity for anyone to partake in a remote pre-recorded BodyTalk session with top Instructors in the BodyTalk System. Instructors tune into the collective energy of all those who will listen in the present or future, providing a session that can offer powerful benefits to anyone who may view the session. Countless testimonials have demonstrated that viewing these sessions at any time and tapping them out can be just as effective as receiving sessions in real time in person. In fact, group sessions are often more powerful because they are amplified by the shared observations and experiences of a large group. Additionally, for BodyTalk Practitioners, remote group sessions increase understanding of important BodyTalk concepts that can be brought into sessions with clients and provide an opportunity for shifts in both the practitioner's and the client's health, consciousness, and perception.

Shelley Poovey

Shelley Poovey is an Advanced Certified BodyTalk Practitioner & PaRama Certified Practitioner who has coordinated BodyTalk continuing education programs and BodyTalk Founders Courses, with John Veltheim, in New York City since 2010. She is currently a BodyTalk Instructor in training.

Her training allows her to combine the latest advances in Western science - such as epigenetics, the human microbiome, neuroplasticity of the brain and the mind-body connection - with ancient wisdom traditions such as chinese medicine, ayurveda, and esoteric healing for powerful sessions that get to the root causes of health, creating a deep sense of personal well-being with lasting results.

In addition, her coursework in Bodytalk Direct, Circadian Rhythms and Orthopedic Evaluation Techniques help identify and optimize areas related to physical performance and stamina - including musculoskeletal coordination, posture, energy levels, sleep, digestion, and mood.

She has completed all the foundation courses including BodyTalk Access, Fundamentals, Principles of Consciousness, Bio-dynamics, Macrocosmic BodyMind, and Matrix Dynamics.

She became advanced certified in 2014 under the supervision of senior instructor Dr. Janet Galipo, which requires a series of written exams and the fulfillment of advanced academic coursework in the field of biological science.

In 2017, She became PaRama Level One certified. PaRama means "higher wisdom" and is the advanced work of the BodyTalk founder, Dr. John Veltheim. PaRama allows for more complex priority-based formulas that can run for weeks at a time. This work is especially helpful for stubborn issues that cannot be addressed within the context of an individual session.

Her participation in the BodyTalk community has also been active and evidenced in a number of ways in recent years. At the 2013 International BodyTalk Association Conference in Malta, her work as a continuing education coordinator was presented. In May 2014, she was a guest presenter at the IBA Instructor’s Conference, discussing how to use matrix dynamics to develop a healthy and cooperative practitioner community. At the 2017 IBA Member’s Conference in Clearwater, Florida, she was invited to teach and share her unique approach to meditation, the Radiant Human Meditation.

Shelley holds a Masters of Science in Health and Human Performance Program from Pacific College of Health Sciences.Shelley and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she worked as a research assistant in the field of Psychology for a number of researchers. She is a certified Reiki Master and Yoga Alliance E-200 hour Registered Teacher with specialized training in Meditation and Yoga Nidra.

Shelley completed five years of study and is certified in Advanced Energy Medicine through the Cyndi Dale Advanced Apprenticeship program and the Energy Medicine Certification Program at Normandale College. She is currently serving as a teaching assistant for The Shift Network's year-long energy healing certification program taught by Cyndi Dale.

“The wound is where the light enters.”

Any trauma, whether a single event or over time, is simply a stressor from which someone has had difficulty recovering. The accumulated compensations the body makes to try and mitigate these stressors lead to the deterioration of health over time. The body might become stuck in “fight or flight” mode, greatly impacting the hypothalamus, which is vital in regulating homeostasis. The hypothalamus then sends a constant flood of stress hormones, such as cortisol, throughout the body. Chronic stress from trauma has myriad consequences. It can decrease the diversity of the gut microbiome, thereby contributing to the proliferation of “bad” bacteria in the gut. It can also lead to weakened immunity and increased susceptibility to chronic diseases. Emotionally, the impact may be increased anxiety, depression, and less resiliency to stress over time. The intuition can also become heightened as an adaptation to help the body survive and recover. In this state, the body may sense danger in advance or experience various signs and synchronicities.

In essence, these temporary coping mechanisms that help you survive can, over time, interfere with harmonious and balanced communication and a healthy and balanced state of intuition that supports optimal homeostasis.

In this three-session series on Trauma and Intuition, we highlight the positive aspects of trauma as a catalyst for self-discovery and inner transformation. Using the wisdom of BodyTalk formulas, we can help unwind tension patterns going back to early childhood, fetal life and the family system to restore harmonious communication throughout the immune system, energy pathways, microbiome, and other systems impacted by trauma.

The IBA is not responsible for ideas, methods or material shared by instructors that may be out of alignment with BodyTalk principles. Additionally, group sessions are intended for a large audience. Each listener’s innate wisdom will take what it needs from the session and leave anything that does not integrate with their body-mind.
